Truro Paintings: Race Point, Provincetown Race Point, of course, is not in Truro. It's a beautiful beach in Provincetown. That said, to my mind these paintings belong in the same series as the Truro paintings. I painted them after staying at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown with a friend. My plan was to get right up close to the wave and focus on the foam. The late Spring day had that usual morning fog. We went to the beach late afternoon so there were no bright blues. The water was gray and purple and had a mirror effect. Please be sure to scroll down to see the paintings. |
